RESPONSIBILITIES
The Stafford County Department of Public Works is responsible for the protection of surface water quality in Stafford County.  The Environmental Division was established in order to comply with specific environmental regulations and help protect the interest of the surrounding community and Stafford County citizens.

The Environmental Division is comprised of both Environmental Inspections and Stormwater Management.  It is the responsibility of the Environmental Division to regulate, assist, and/or promote the following:

- Land Disturbance	- MS4 Stormwater Permit Program
- Erosion & Sediment Control	- BMP Maintenance Inspections
- Landscaping	- Low-Impact Development
- Drainage	- Pollution Prevention
