Ty A. Schieber was appointed to the Board of Supervisors in January 2012. He is an 18 year resident of Stafford County. He was elected by the residents of the Garrisonville District in 2009 to the Stafford County School Board, where he served from 2010-2012. He served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer for 11 years active duty and three years reserve. He is the President of the Defense Strategic Business Unit of Vistronix, and a two-term past chairman and current director for the Military Affairs Council part of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce. Ty holds a BS (Political Science) from the United States Naval Academy, and two masters’ degrees: Master of Science in Systems Technology (Joint Command, Control, and Communications) and Master of Science in National Security Affairs (Scientific and Technical Intelligence) from the Naval Postgraduate School. He and his wife, Liz, have three children. Caroline (20), Brian (17) and Meg (14).
